Custom Water Polo Caps
Water polo caps are mandatory protective gear specifically designed for water polo, fundamentally different from regular silicone swim caps. Their primary functions include ear protection against impact, team identification, and durability for high-intensity play. According to official competition rules, all players must wear them, and they are also commonly used in underwater hockey.
Due to the intense nature of water polo—high-speed ball impacts, underwater grappling, and physical contact—ear membranes are highly susceptible to injury. Regular swim caps lack protective structures and cannot be used as substitutes for water polo caps during training or competition.
Key differences from standard swim caps
Standard hollow rigid ear guards on both sides: the only signature design, providing impact cushioning and preventing eardrum perforation; open design ensures no sound isolation, allowing players to hear teammates’ instructions underwater.
Chin strap for secure fit: won’t come off during underwater pulling or rolling.
Reinforced tear-resistant fabric: highly durable against tearing and chlorine in swimming pools, resistant to repeated wear and tear.
Large printed numbers with consistent color coding: red and blue teams clearly differentiated; goalkeepers wear red No. 1 caps for quick identification underwater.
